Film Úzkorozchodné železnice v Čechách obsahuje záběry ze tří diametrálně odlišných drah - postupně obnovované kolínské řepařské dráhy, prakticky zlikvidované frýdlantské drážky, jejíž zbytky existují jen díky iniciativě několika nadšenců a největší a nejznámější české úzkorozchodné železnice v Jindřichově Hradci s tratěmi do Obrataně a Nové Bystřice. Snímek kromě stručného průřezu historií drážek ukazuje základní přehled jejich parku hnacích vozidel.

Im Film Schmalspurbahnen in Böhmen werden Szenen von drei Bahnen aus völlig unterschiedlichen Regionen gezeigt. Das sind die Rübenbahn Kolín, die schrittweise wieder aufgebaut wird, die praktisch nicht mehr existenten Bahnen von Frýdlant, deren Fragmente nur dank der Initiative einiger Enthusiasten erhalten blieben und schliesslich das grösste und bekannteste böhmische Schmalspurnetz in Jindřichův Hradec mit den Strecken nach Obrataň und Nová Bystřice. Neben einem kurzen geschichtlichen Abriss verschafft der Film einen Überblick über den Fahrzeugpark.

Narrow Gauge in Bohemia takes us to three very different stretches of track - from the piecemeal restoration of the sugar beet line in Kolín, to the all but vanished tracks of the Frýdlant line, whose remains owe their very existence to the initiative of a handful of enthusiasts, and finally to the Jindřichův Hradec line, Bohemia´s foremost narrow gauge railway, stretching to Obrataň and Nová Bystřice. The film sketches this history of the lines and acquaints the viewer with the locomotives in their rolling stock.
